Note

From Artifactory release 7.77, you can create, edit, and delete customized global roles.

To create a customized Global role, you must be assigned an 'Administer the Platform' role.

You can create a maximum of 30 custom global roles.

  1. From the Projects list, select All.

  2. On the Project level, navigate to User Management | Global Roles.

    JFrog Platform New Navigation

If you use the new navigation, click Administration on the taskbar, then select User Managment | Global Roles. For more information on the new navigation, see JFrog Platform Navigation

  3. Click Create Global Role and configure the role settings:

    1. Type your user-defined global role name.

    2. Assign one or more environments to the role by selecting from the Global Environments list.

      add_global_role_settings
    3. Set the Basic or Advanced role actions to assign to the role:

      • The Basic tab supports a limited number of actions regardless of the resource type.

      • The Advanced tab supports another level of granularity, which allows Project Admins to assign actions according to resource type.

        Important

Any actions settings made in the Advanced tab are removed if you move back from Advanced to Basic mode.

The following example displays the Lead Testing global role with advanced actions including Read and Annotate on Repositories, Builds, and Release Bundles and the Trigger action on Pipelines.
