Cloudmunch, a DevOps monitoring startup based in Seattle, has been acquired by JFrog for an undisclosed amount to help round out its package of tools for software developers. JFrog, based in Sunnyvale, Calif., makes several different tools for software development organizations to manage code repositories, such as Artifactory. Multiple developers working on a software project need tools to make sure they’re all pulling from the same sources when adding code to the project, and Artifactory helps manage that process: JFrog’s technology is used by some pretty forward-thinking software development companies, including Google, Netflix, and Amazon.

US-based DevOps accelerator JFrog has acquired universal DevOps Intelligence platform CloudMunch. The acquisition was made in a bid to expand its product offerings for developers.

In a move to bring more insight to the DevOps process, JFrog has acquired CloudMunch, bringing CloudMunch’s DevOps intelligence platform into the JFrog fold. This acquisition will provide a key piece of JFrog’s promised end-to-end DevOps stack, which starts with the Artifactory binary repository and ends with Mission Control, a monitoring management dashboard for keeping an eye on software health overall, said Kit Merker, vice president of business development at JFrog.

After a $50m investment January 2016, Israel-based software delivery automation vendor JFrog is in acquisition mode – specifically, it’s eating some analytics brains. JFrog is acquiring the $3.5m-backed CloudMunch, which offers collaboration and software delivery lifecycle analytics. “The DevOps revolution started with automation, augmenting developer tasks,” said JFrog CEO Shlomi Ben Haim. “That is not enough any more.”
