Seattle DevOps startup Shippable has been acquired by JFrog, a larger Bay Area software company focused on helping companies ship software faster and more reliably, for an undisclosed amount.
JFrog intends to use Shippable’s technology to “allow JFrog customers to automate their software development processes from the moment code is committed through to production,” said Kit Merker, vice president of software development for JFrog.

JFrog has announced a new public repository for the open-source community of Go developers. JFrog GoCenter is meant for software modules developed in the Go programming language, and is expected to officially launch to the broad community early next year.

Originally developed by Google, the open-source language Go, which celebrated its ninth anniversary last month, has seen impressive growth over the years. It hovers in fifth place in Stack Overflow’s 2018 survey of most-loved languages (above the likes of JavaScript) and third in rankings of languages devs most want to learn. Python reigns supreme, of course.
