JFrog has announced a new public repository for the open-source community of Go developers. JFrog GoCenter is meant for software modules developed in the Go programming language, and is expected to officially launch to the broad community early next year.

Updated Self-proclaimed “Database of DevOps” JFrog is about to fling open the first central repository for Go modules in the form of GoCenter.

Originally developed by Google, the open-source language Go, which celebrated its ninth anniversary last month, has seen impressive growth over the years. It hovers in fifth place in Stack Overflow’s 2018 survey of most-loved languages (above the likes of JavaScript) and third in rankings of languages devs most want to learn. Python reigns supreme, of course.

Instead of large numbered updates you have to manually download, it sees a future of continuous delivery where software is delivered as binaries and updated in the background. Investors must like that vision very much because they showered the company with a $165 million Series D investment today, which the company reports pushes its valuation past the billion dollar mark.

Developer software startup JFrog has landed $165 million in funding as venture capital investors look for their next big thing in enterprise software.

JFrog CEO Shlomi Ben Haim told Fortune that the startup’s latest investment values the company at over $1 billion, but he declined to cite a specific valuation. The enterprise startup now joins a growing list of so-called unicorn startups with private valuations of at least $1 billion dollars.
