JFrog licenses are configured per instance. Therefore, if you’d like to retain the same license settings on your remote server, you’ll need to create those settings on that specific server.
You may also export licenses from your server and import them into your remote server. Here is how to do it:
- On your source server, navigate to Administration > Licenses and select Export all the licenses. This will create a file called licenses.xml.
- On your destination server, navigate to UI > Import & Export > System, and perform an export system with the exclude content, exclude metadata, and exclude builds checkboxes ticked. This will create a file containing your license(s), which will be marked with a timestamp. Thereafter, copy this file to your $BACKUP_DIR.
- Copy the licenses.xml file, which you created in Step #1, to your $BACKUP_DIR/licenses.
- On the destination server, navigate to UI > Admin tab > Import & Export > System > Import.
- Choose your backup directory and tick the exclude content and exclude metadata checkboxes.
Note: This will replace the license settings for your destination server completely.
