Typically, you can view the effective permissions on each of the resources for users, groups, and Permission Targets in the Effective Permissions tab under the Artifacts, Builds, and Distribution pages:
However, you may observe that the “Effective Permissions” tab is missing in some repositories in Artifactory while it is visible in other repositories. So is it expected behavior?
The answer is, Yes. This happens because once a repository is associated with a Project, the “Effective Permissions” tab will be removed from the tabs shown under the repository via the UI. Since Projects in Artifactory have a separate set of permissions from the one that exists in the Global Scope, the permissions for users in Projects should be viewed within the Project view by simply navigating to the User Management tab under the following sections as shown in the screenshots below:
