XRAY: Eclipse IDE Integration with JFrog Platform

Objective

This article provides step-by-step instructions on integrating Eclipse IDE with JFrog Platform.

Prerequisites

Ensure you have the latest version of Eclipse installed on your machine.
Download the JFrog Eclipse plugin zip file from the JFrog website.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Download and Open Eclipse:
   - Download the latest version of Eclipse IDE
   - Launch the Eclipse IDE

2. Install the JFrog Plugin:
   - Go to the Help menu
   - Select Install New Software....

3. Add JFrog Plugin Archive:
   - Click on Add
   - In the dialog box that appears, select Archive
   - Navigate to the location where you saved the JFrog plugin zip file and select it
   - Click OK

4. Install Plugin:
   - Provide the Platform url, credentials as prompted in the screenshot
   - Click on Test Connection to verify that Eclipse can connect to JFrog Xray successfully
   - You might need to restart Eclipse to complete the installation

 

5. Verifying Plugin Installation:
   - To verify that the latest version of the JFrog plugin has been installed, navigate to Help > Installation Details
   - In the Installed Software tab, look for JFrog Plugin and check the version

  

6. Accessing JFrog Views:
   - If you do not see the JFrog tab after installation, navigate to Window > Show View
   - Search for any JFrog-related views to ensure it's ready for use

 

7. Scanning a Project:
   - Open the project you want to scan
   - Click on the refresh button (as highlighted in the screenshot below) to initiate the scan

 

8. Review Scan Results:
   - Once the scan is complete, review the results as indicated by the JFrog view, where you can see any issues found and necessary actions
