Why the Size of Your Backup or System Export Is Bigger Than the Size of Your Filestore

Since Artifactory uses checksum-based storage, each file that exists in Artifactory is deduplicated and stored on the disk only once (even if the file exists in multiple locations).
However, on the backup, they are not saved once they are re-duplicated and saved in each location they are referenced.
You can estimate the overall size of your backup by navigating to Admin > Advanced, looking at your Storage Summary, and comparing the total size of your binaries to the total size of your artifacts.
The latter will be the total size of your backup.
