ARTIFACTORY: How to Promote Multi-Package Type Builds Using Release Bundles v2
Step-by-step process to promote multi-package type builds
DescriptionThis article will help you to promote multi-package type builds. In Artifactory, we can publish multi-package type builds and by using Release bundle V2 Feature, we can promote it to respective target repositories.
1. Using JFrog CLI, published a multi-package type build using the same build name and build
number.
Below is the screenshot of publishing npm and docker packages in a single build.
$ jf npm publish –build-name=<name-of-build> –build-number=<name-of-build-number> $ jf rt dp localhost:8082/<repo-name/image:tag “source-repo” –build-number=<name-of-build-number> $ jf rt bp build-name build-number
Build publish
2. Using the above build, create a release bundle by clicking the release bundle option as per the
below screenshot
3. Once the release bundle is created we can promote the bundle with artifacts to their target repositories by selecting the promote option.
Kindly note that to promote the build artifacts to target repositories, those target repositories should be categorized with environments (for example: prod/stg/dev) in the repository configuration.
We need to select the repositories to promote as per the below screenshot
4. Once the release bundle is promoted, the artifacts will be promoted to respective repositories successfully.
