Introduction
This article aims to notify users about a known issue affecting Artifactory, stemming from recent updates to the HuggingFace Client starting with version 0.30.x. We will describe the nature of the issue, its impact on functionality, and suggest a workaround to mitigate any potential disruptions.
Overview of Client Modifications
The HuggingFace Client has launched version 0.30.x, which implements a new storage mechanism known as “xet." This modification impacts how the HuggingFace Client integrates with Artifactory, particularly with the upload feature. The recent update triggers a new endpoint during the upload process for models or datasets, which was not present in earlier versions.
We have identified this issue as a bug, and our JFrog Team is currently working on a fix. A corrected version of Artifactory will be released shortly.
Recommended Workaround
To maintain smooth integration with Artifactory while we work on this issue, we suggest that users downgrade the HuggingFace Client to a version prior to 0.30.x.
Future Announcements
This article will be updated as soon as the fixed version becomes available. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this problem.
