Anonymous User:
Anonymous access typically refers to the ability for users to access certain resources or services without providing any identifying information or credentials. It's often used in the context where users may need to access public information or resources without having to create an account or log in. We might have a situation where we have to allow anonymous access to specific Artifact or Image in the repository to be publicly accessible but not to the complete Repository.
The JFrog supports the concept of anonymous users and installs with a pre-defined
‘anonymous’ user to which we can assign Permissions just like for any other user. We can control anonymous access under the General Security Settings. Please note that we have to set Allow Anonymous Access as enabled in the General Security Settings to activate the anonymous user. You must activate the anonymous user before you can fine tune its permissions. When anonymous access is activated, anonymous requests can download cached artifacts and populate caches, regardless of other permissions defined.
By Default, Anonymous users come with below permissions in Artifactory versions before 7.84.3. These default permissions were removed starting from Artifactory version 7.84.3.
