JFrog, Google Collaborate to Extend JFrog Artifactory SaaS Solution to Google Cloud Platform

JFrog’s Universal Artifact Repository Manager Gains Support from Another Leading Cloud Provider

SNAPA, Calif. – swampUP – May 23, 2016 – JFrog today announced the immediate availability of JFrog Artifactory, a universal artifact repository for managing software packages, running as a SaaS application on Google Cloud Platform, the newest addition to the list of major cloud providers that JFrog Artifactory supports.

The move expands customer’s freedom of choice in deploying JFrog Artifactory to manage software packages. JFrog Artifactory provides an end-to- end, automated and bulletproof solution that integrates with their continuous integration tool set for hosting and tracking binary artifacts from development to production, regardless of the programming language or technology used to create them.

Google Cloud Platform enables developers to build, test and deploy applications on Google’s highly scalable and reliable infrastructure. It offers compute, storage and application services for web, mobile and backend solutions.

“‘Universal’ is our governing philosophy,” said Shlomi Ben Haim, co-founder and CEO of JFrog. “That’s reflected not only in JFrog Artifactory’s status as the only universal artifact repository manager, but also in its ability to run with all the major cloud platforms, from Amazon Web Services to Microsoft Azure to now Google Cloud Platform. Today, JFrog Artifactory is serving over 2,000 customers, including the world’s leading companies.”

Managing binary artifacts, which are like construction materials that development and DevOps teams share in the software build process and include everything from Docker images to Node.js packages, has become a key aspect of the software development process. A binary repository is a single gateway through which a development organization accesses external artifacts and stores its own build artifacts. By centralizing the management of all binary artifacts, the repository overcomes the complexity arising from the diversity of binary types, their position in the workflow and the dependencies between them.

JFrog Artifactory dramatically speeds up the development process by enabling users to manage all binary artifacts equally well, regardless of the programming language, technology or CI server used to build them.

Integrating with all major CI/CD and DevOps tools, JFrog Artifactory is the only artifact repository ready for the enterprise, with clustered high availability, support for multi-site teams, cloud availability, reliable storage and a proven security model.
