Fly Graduates: Agentic Repository Experience Lands in the JFrog Platform

The way software gets built is changing faster than at any point in the last decade, and the software supply chain has to keep up. A year ago at swampUp, we introduced JFrog Fly: the first agentic repository, serving as a fast, AI-native environment to build what a modern, agentic developer workflow could look like, unconstrained by the shape of the enterprise stack. Today, we’re bringing what we learned back home.

Fly’s AI-native capabilities are graduating into the JFrog Platform. The innovations that made Fly exciting are moving there too: native agent ergonomics to connect your coding agents to Artifactory for trusted package resolution and release management, semantic release metadata controls, AI-assisted workflows, and the model-and-artifact fluidity we prototyped. All of it now joins the JFrog Platform, where the rest of your software supply chain lives. This is agility and technology advancement working hand-in-hand to make tools and processes in the AI era better for the enterprise.

The standalone Fly beta will be wound down in the coming weeks. Fly did what a good beta was supposed to do: it let us build with the throttle wide open, on a smaller surface, with a group of early adopters who were willing to try things with us. It taught us where AI in the SDLC creates real leverage, and also where it just adds ceremony. It gave us conviction on what’s worth productizing at scale based on your feedback.

Now we’re taking that conviction and pointing it at the surface where it has the most impact for you: the tens of thousands of teams and millions of developers whose software supply chain runs through Artifactory today. That’s where AI-native capabilities need to land if they’re going to change the math for enterprise software delivery. Fly proved the ideas; the JFrog Platform is where they’ll scale.

What’s Next

The next chapter will be unveiled at swampUP, where we’re excited to introduce capabilities that bring trusted software delivery to the new era of software supply chain, where AI agents are primary participants. Provenance, policy, and trust for AI-generated artifacts is paramount with agent-friendly controls that don’t force you to choose between velocity and governance.
